[vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]We did the music for Liselore Frowijn at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Amsterdam. Liselore presented two different collections in one show: a fall winter 17/18 preview and her first capsule collection #New Cluster aka See Now Buy Now.

The preview was inspired by utopian cities and the sculptures of Dutch artist Alfred Eikelenboom. The capsule collection consisted of 10 looks that can be ordered online in 12 different Vlisco materials. The Dutch textile factory is known for its colourful high quality prints and is immensely popular in West African countries.

The mix had to be rooted in African music and at the same time conscious of a world in turmoil. The sound score had to go from held back into optimistic and festive since the colourful patterns became louder during the show and because it was the closing event of this season’s fashion week Amsterdam.

We used tracks by Bantu Continua Uhuru Consciousness, Madou Djembé, Kongas, Will Gold and Salif Keita, adding more percussion and the sounds of cities and vendors at a West African textile market.

Seating music was a ‘Why can’t we live together’ by Timmy Thomas. Walk out music was Nigerian super star Fela Kuti’s ‘Water No Get Enemy’.
