one was arranged by vogue netherlands: 45 models showed pieces by 15 dutch yop designers. the mood was very helmut newton, so we used mainly end seventies, eighties and beginning nineties music by the likes of inxs, robert palmer, grace jones, david bowie, malcolm mclaren and many others. it was all about glamour with a hint of sex and a nasty bite.

the other show was arranged by former dutch super model linda spiering. she asked her friend azzedine allaïa to participate, and so he did.

the music had to be about travelling the deserts of northern Africa, about the beauty of arabic architecture, about feminine perfection… and about eventually winding up in the western world. it had to be modern, not dated. we used tracks by hanaa ouassim, rikslyd oriented, boys in the oud and a seelenluft cover of america’s ‘horse with no name’.

the orange babies birthday ball raised € 400.000.- and saved the lives of 4000 babies.
