JOURMAIN | SPRING SUMMER 2015 | MERCEDES BENZ FASHION WEEK AMSTERDAM
we delivered the sound score for the very first catwalk show of luxury kids brand jourmáin. the instructions were clear: no childish music, this is a show for mini-people with style.
dutch star football player jermain lens started jourmáin and is ambitious in all the right ways: some of the best people in the dutch fashion industry are on board. fashion illustrator and creative consultant piet paris designed the logo and the impressive décor, which set an ultra chic middle ages fairytale vibe.
we had to hold back music wise but at the same time had to create a sound score of royal grandeur. we also had to make sure the show had to have clear a positive feel: jourmáin’s message to the world is ‘a bright new future’.

SPIJKERS EN SPIJKERS | SPRING SUMMER 2014 | MERCEDES BENZ FASHION WEEK AMSTERDAM
we delivered the sound score for the spijkers en spijkers spring summer 2015 show, which was inspired by singer and dancer joséphine baker, famous for her bananaskirt dance in the roaring twenties in paris.
joséphine, the creole goddess, is one of our all time heroes: she created a sexual revolution, was the first black superstar ever and spread happiness and love throughout her entire life.
the collection was vibrant and colorful, with amongst others, prints and applications of panthers, bananas and miss baker herself.
spijkers en spijkers wanted a modern feel to the show, so we immediately skipped all the great joséphine baker songs and chose for a chic and decadent tropical reggae feel, which had to show major attitude. Read the rest of this entry »
LICHTING 2014 | MERCEDES BENZ FASHION WEEK AMSTERDAM
we directed the music for lichting 2014, a show with fourteen young designers who battled for the prestigious v&d talent award. lichting 2014 is produced by htnk fashion recruitment and consultancy, and is one of the absolute high lights of mercedes benz fashion week amsterdam.
each designer sent us the music they wanted to hear during their 2.5 minutes of fame, in which they had to show five strong looks. we tried to be respectful to their choice of music as much as possible, but had to cut all up and changed a few things here and there: the flow of the show was most important. CLAES IVERSEN | SPRING SUMMER 2015 | MERCEDES BENZ FASHION WEEK AMSTERDAM
we delivered the music for danish designer claes iversen’s spring summer 2015 show. it was the official opening of this season’s mercedes benz fashion week amsterdam.
claes mixed his breath taking couture pieces with prêt-à-porter looks. the latter being a first time ever, resulting in great skinny trousers and t-shirts with fantastic prints and embellishments.
his instructions towards to music were clear and vague at the same time: it had to be classy, emotional, positive, reminiscent italian haute couture shows from the nineties ànd it had to have a austere and clean cut scandinavian feel. Read the rest of this entry »
SIS BY SPIJKERS EN SPIJKERS | FW 2014 | MERCEDES BENZ FASHION WEEK AMSTERDAM
we did the music for the sis by spijkers and spijkers fall winter 2014 show at fashion week amsterdam and had a great time compiling, mixing and delivering this little gem.
the collection was inspired by jules verne’s balloon trip around the world in eighty days. we made a mix which took the audience around the world in a hot air balloon in just twelve minutes. the show got rave reviews.
we used the trippy classic ambient-house track ‘fluffy clouds’ by the orb as a keytrack, mixing in music from countries from all over the world or tracks mentioning travels around the world and famous cities and added the sound of hot air and wind over the result. Read the rest of this entry »
DENNIS DIEM | FALL WINTER 2014 | MERCEDES BENZ FASHION WEEK AMSTERDAM
dutch avant-garde couturier dennis diem showed his fall winter 2014 collection at amsterdam fashion week and it blew peoples minds.
dennis is known for his dark mentality, gothic insanity and superb craftsmanship.
he is also known for sending models out on the runway walking on the most impossible high heels, sometimes even made out beaks of amazone toucans… and never lower than 18 centimeters.
the theme for this collection was 1920’s opium dens, the art of falling apart, the flamboyant upper-class getting stoned and tripping far beyond the depths of decadence.

SUPERTRASH | FALL WINTER 2014 | MERCEDES-BENZ FASHION WEEK AMSTERDAM
we delivered the music for the supertrash fall winter 2014 catwalk show, called big bang. it was held in an old factory just outside amsterdam. and yes: it was a blast. the show was all about the evolution, the rise of women and superwomen in outer space.
we made an extraterrestrial ambient soundscape as seating music, thus creating a suspense ‘alien’-like atmosphere, which fitted the decor: a huge shiny white planet above a white catwalk in an abandoned run down factory.
at the start of the show the planet flew away, and in a tunnel made by white lasers the first model appeared. topmodel bregje heinen opened the show. Read the rest of this entry »
MARYME-JIMMYPAUL | FW1415 | MERCEDES-BENZ FASHION WEEK AMSTERDAM
we delivered the music for the marryme-jimmypaul fall winter 2014 catwalk show at mercedes-benz fashion week amsterdam, which was called ‘sam on mars’.
the collection was based on introspectionism, about exploring post apocalyptic new worlds and fighting the brutal elements of nature on a non-existent planet.
maybe it was an answer to last season’s reviews? their prior spring summer show created an outrage, showing yolo big birds at gay pride korea kind of silhouettes. this time maryme-jimmypaul went much deeper, exploring their inner selves and their true identity.
we love maryme-jimmypaul, they are positive and brave, kicking against the rules and boundaries of fashion and are growing into one of the most special brands on this planet. Read the rest of this entry »
FRANCISCO VAN BENTHUM | FALL 2014 | MERCEDES-BENZ FASHION WEEK AMSTERDAM
we delivered the music for the francisco van benthum fall 2014 catwalk show at amsterdam fashion week, called con-struct.
the show was a statement about freedom and supported amnesty international’s battle against political oppression in russia.
the briefing was clear: raw, industrial and dark, with hints of hooliganism and the rich cultural history of russia (especially constructivism). some items in the show made us think of the rebellious street artist banksy.
MATTIJS | FALL 2014 | MERCEDES-BENZ FASHION WEEK AMSTERDAM
we delivered the music for the mattijs fall winter 2014 catwalk show, called ‘complementair’. it was the official opening show for mercedes-benz fashion week amsterdam.
